The transport system must be tailored to people,
not the other way around.
"Mission Zero" is a derivation of the guiding principle "Vision Zero" targeting zero traffic fatalities and severe injuries among all road users. As a bundle of strategies, Vision Zero starts with the ethical belief, that all people have the right to move safely in their area. Mission Zero is defining a set of solutions, regulations and other terms for urban areas and their policy makers to achieve zero traffic deaths in the near future.

First of all, the development of road safety over time is demonstrated on a global and Germany-wide perspective. In this context, a special emphasis is placed on Berlin and other European cities that are close to achieving the Vision Zero goal in recent years and thus are considered as best practices. Finally, Mission Zero is being defined and summarised by giving six actions steps to be undertaken.
